Ricardo Jorge Alcobia Granja Rodrigues

Ricardo Rodrigues is an Assistant Professor at the Lisbon School of Economics & Management of Universidade de Lisboa (ISEG-ULisboa), where he is responsible for courses in sociology of work, and lecturer in the Master's Program in International Development and Cooperation and in the PhD Program in Economic and Organisational Sociology. With a PhD in Social Policy and Social Work from the University of York (UK), he is a researcher at the Research Centre for Economic and Organisational Sociology (SOCIUS) and currently a member of its Board. Previously he was head of the Health & Care unit and deputy director of the European Centre for Social Welfare Policy and Research (Austria).
His research focuses on the impact of demographic ageing on health and care systems, gender inequalities, inequalities in health and access to care, and the impact of care provision on health and the labor market. He has extensive experience in international projects and collaborations with international organisations such as WHO and OECD, having recently coordinated the FutureGEN project (Evolving Gender Differences in Health and Care across Cohorts), funded by the Gender ERA-Net program of the European Union.
His research is published in scientific journals of the Gerontology Society of America (The Journals of Gerontology) as well as in the Journal of European Social Policy, Journal of Social Policy, Health Economics, International Journal of Equity in Health, among others.
